On Dec 4/5 2008, over 170 people from more than 30 countries participated in highly inspiring debates on Europe's trade policy: 'Global Europe: competing in the world'.
The conference's key question: Does 'Global Europe' take into account the objective of sustainable development?

Getting there and away, Visa information and Hotel Recommendations

The conference will be held in the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels, rue Wiertz 60, B-1040 Brussels, Room A3G2 on level 3, ASP Building. Meeting participants can enter the Parliament ONLY during registration hours and ONLY through the entrance of the ASP-building (Altiero Spinelli, see map below), where a security check will be performed. Please bring a valid ID. Each participant will receive a badge. Participants are kindly asked to present themselves at the entrance 30 minutes before the start of the meetings on Thursday (13:20) and Friday (9:00am).

1. About Brussels

Brussels is the federal capital of Belgium. It is known for its squares, monuments and magnificent museums. The impressive main square (Grand-Place) with the town hall and surrounding alleyways and old houses is one of the finest in the world. Click here for more information and links!

3. Getting there and away

The conference will be held in the building of the European Parliament, Brussels, Room A3G2 on level 3. You'll find the registration at the Altiero Spinelli entrance (not Luxembourg!!). Click here for a map and itinaries from the airport and the trainstations!

4. Information on visa issues for FoEI members and partners

In order to travel to Belgium you need a Schengen visa from most Non-European countries in the world. Due to budget restrictions, we are unable to reimburse travel expenditures for non FoEI members or partners. Please try to utilize any other facilities of reimbursement and ask them for a letter of invitation.
