POLICY BRIEF
Global Europe Policy Brief seeks to foster and enrich debate on current developments in EU external affairs – it does this by outlining the rationale for choosing a particular policy alternative or course of action in a current policy debate.

BRIEFING PAPER
Global Europe Briefing Paper follows the format of research papers (published in ‘EU External Affairs Review’) covering key topical issues, yet it does not go into too much detail and it also uses less academic language. Briefing paper outlines and analyzes current issues, provides background information to them, and defines potential problems; moreover, it may also review particular policy considerations, include recommendations and offer some ways forward.

High-quality papers reporting original research and
innovative approaches for the EU
External Relations Review are invited for submission on a continuous
basis.
EU External Affairs Review
is a bi-annual, academic and policy-oriented, international online refereed
journal that publishes the work of scholars and policy practitioners on a broad
range of issues related to European Union’s external affairs. Published by
Global Europe, in collaboration with Association
for International Affairs, a leading Prague-based think tank and research
institute, the Review’s home page
may be accessed from www.global-europe.org.
Selected papers will also be published (possibly on a biennial basis) in a
printed version of the Review.
EU External Affairs Review
welcomes research articles from scholars, practitioners in international
relations, and other experts from all around the world who are involved in
various academic disciplines and with interest and expertise in the European
Union’s external affairs. Postgraduate students and early-career scholars are
especially encouraged to submit the results of their research work.

Review are selected through rigorous double-blind peer-review process to
ensure their originality, relevance, readability, and timeliness, as well as to
generally maintain the Review’s high
academic standard.
Thematic Specialization
EU External Affairs Review
considers all aspects and dimensions of the European Union’s relations with the
rest of the world. It focuses on the political/geopolitical, security, social,
economic, and legal aspects of the EU's foreign policy – hence serving as an
interdisciplinary platform for new thinking and ground-breaking ideas about
different issues which are of relevance to the European Union’s external
relations with its international partners (any third state, international
institution or non-state actor).

provide its readers with the latest in strategic thinking among the EU foreign
policy-making elites. The Review
concurrently aims to offer analysis on the EU’s global policy agenda while
seeking to stimulate the much needed debate on different policy/security
challenges facing Europe. To achieve these objectives, the Review is designed as a meeting-point where academics,
practitioners, and other experts from different corners of the globe exchange
their respective views, thus cross-fertilizing their perspectives and ideas of
the EU’s role in the contemporary world.
EU External Affairs Review
aspires at meeting the needs of both the academic community and the
practitioners/policy-makers in international relations, as well as informed
citizens and stakeholders within civil society, media, academia, business and
government in that it provides a public forum, a premier ideas platform for the
discussion about the present state and future development of European foreign
policy interests and strategies.
Submission Guidelines
Full papers of 4000-6000
words are accepted on a continuous basis for publication in the future issues
of EU External Affairs Review. The
submitted papers should be strictly prepared according to guidelines of the EU
External Affairs Review.
- The papers are to be
submitted in electronic form (Word or RTF file) along with a short
abstract (100-150 words) and the author’s brief biography (should not exceed 100
words). Formatting should be kept to an absolute minimum. Diagrams, figures, tables,
etc. are encouraged; they should not be embedded in the text but supplied in
separate files, eg. emailed as attached files to the editor’s email address.
- Papers for
publication are selected through rigorous double-blind peer-review
process. This is done in order to ensure their originality, relevance,
readability, and timeliness and generally to maintain the Review’s high academic standard. Authors must ensure that they
cannot be identified by statements in the text or by footnotes in the
manuscript submitted for review. The author's name and contact details
(address, email and phone) should appear at the beginning of the manuscript on
a separate title page.
- Manuscripts must
conform to the Review’s formatting
style – interested authors should download and read the Author’s Manual (PDF) for all details of requirements, procedures, paper
mechanics, referencing style, and the technical review process for submitted
papers.
